The IKC3 team had a great day at the Kerry Science Festival STEM Showcase Day on Saturday. 1,500+ people visited MTU Kerry North Campus to experience workshops, demos and activities. We held the LEGO Climathon, which encouraged kids of all ages to build climate-smart communities from LEGO. We also held a sustainable living expo which showcasing innovation in biobased products and sustainable living opportunities for consumers, homes, and families. Products include:

  • Pinatex from Ananas Anam Ltd – sustainable produced luxury fabrics from pineapple growing side streams
  • MOGU – interior décor products from mycellium
  • Ralston Colour and Coatings B.V. – next generation biobased paint & packaging showcased by retailers Pat McDonnell Paint
  • Skyscraper Group – Irish company manufacturing clothing from hemp
  • Dantoy – children’s toys produced from biobased plastics and marine/fishing industry waste
  • Sampla – Irish company using apple growing industry side streams to create high fashion ethically produced footwear
  • Riley – Irish company revolutionaries in feminine personal care product innovation using biobased and sustainable production and packaging
  • 2nd Life Furniture – unique designs by REVAMP Castleisland & Daruss Upholstery Kerry
  • Blue Pet Co. – Irish company creating premium foods & supplements for dog’s using bioactive seaweed extractions and sustainable packaging
  • SEABODY – Irish company harnessing the Power of the Ocean with seaweed-based supplement & skincare range.
  • BiaSol – Irish company upcycling leftover food sources and developing high value food ingredients that can help bring further innovation to the food industry and help us all live more sustainably
  • Beardsmith – Irish company men’s personal care products sustainable an ethically produced and packaged
  • Ballyseedy Home & Garden – Sustainably produced plants, and home and garden products
  • Netties Flowers – Sustainable floristry, seasonal, pesticide-free cut flowers in Kerry
