Community Based Climate Innovation
Community Based Climate Innovation is a newly introduced initiative focused on upskilling groups of individuals in systems innovation, and its practical application to address local, regional, or sector-specific climate related sustainability challenges.

Who is it for?
The programme is for any group of individuals who wish to work together on a self-identified sustainability challenge. The programme may suit communities, enterprise clusters, or specific sectors wishing to address the sustainability challenges they collectively face. The programme is offered at level 9 NFQ, so applicants should either already hold a primary degree, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of informal training or experiential learning.
How will it work?
Teams of individuals will receive customised training via a series of online and in-person workshops to better understand the complexity of the sustainability challenges they face. Participants will work through three distinct phases of learning over three months to produce a portfolio of synergistic projects designed to address specific sustainability challenges.
Will I need to sit an exam?
There are no written exams for the programme. Assessment will be based on a team presentation, a short written report, and an individual reflection on learning experiences and how the new knowledge might be implemented by the learner in the future. Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive an IKC3 certificate of completion.
How do I apply?
We welcome applications from existing communities, enterprise clusters, or specific sectors that can guarantee between 20 and 40 participants in the programme.
